Fighter Practice is currently on normal hours: we start at 2PM and run until 4PM or later Practice will begin at 4PM starting Memorial Day 2012. All fighters are reminded to bring ample supplies of water and a chair to sit in. We hold a joint Garb-n-Grub with the Shire of Phoenix Glade on the FOURTH Sunday of every month. We welcome any other fighters from the region who would like to join us for fighting and fellowship! For new fighters or anyone interested in fighting: We encourage all who are interested to come out to fighter practice! We are currently working on getting a collection of loaner gear for those whose armor is not yet complete. In addition, we will be training in small-unit tactics and drill, and some of this will not involve fighting so there is still training to be had even if your kit isn't complete! |

The responsibilities of the Youth Combat Marshal are to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators, teach the rules of SCA combat and conduct on the field, all while having fun. At any time if I feel that there is a danger to your child or to his/her opponent I will call a "HOLD!" on the field. While we are on the field my words are law! This is a learning experience and they will make mistakes - that's OK. But if I see that you are deliberately being unsafe you will be pulled from the field. If your armor is not to specification then you will not be able to fight. I will have loaner gear available in exchange for regular items (shoes, jacket, etc) which will be returned when I get my equipment back. Attached is the handbook; please feel free to look it over if you are interested in participating, then get in contact with me via email and we can go over the rules with your child. Once I feel your child understands the rules than we will talk about getting authorized and we can start making some good armor for your gosling. Right now, my deputy is Bubba (he has been such a great help to me) but we can always use more deputies. If you are interested in that, email me for the requirements.
